Take a guided tour of the 16th century rooms of palazzo marin, the cradle of venetian art and culture
The Bel Sito organises guided tours of Palazzo Marin, a classic 16th-century Venetian palazzo restored in 1760 with artistic input by Gaetano Zompini and Giovanni Scajaro, who painted the frescoes. The palazzo was home to the countess Isabella Teotochi of Corfu, who married Carlo Antonio Marin at the age of 16. Cultured, educated and beautiful, she held a literary salon which was frequented by Ugo Foscolo and Ippolito Pindemonte, among others. Palazzo Marin takes three centuries of Venetian art and culture and presents them in a new light, resulting in a very special place that today throbs with history and art.
