A new story for the Procuratie Vecchie which, from today, for the first time in 500 years, open their doors to the public, unveiling the spaces of THSN - The Human Safety Net, Generali Group's Foundation, which has been based in the monumental building since 1832, and opening up a "never-before-seen" view of St Mark's Square. The project for the recovery and reconfiguration of the 12,400 square metres owned by Generali, was signed, following an international competition and not without controversy, by the archistar David Chipperfield, Gold Medal of the Royal Institute of British Architects, and the David Chipperfield Architects Milan studio, and envisaged not only the recovery of the structure's ancient appearance, eliminating the additions made in modern times, but also a new permeability between the interior of the building and the exterior of the entire Marches area.
