The 19th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, titled “Intelligens. Natural. Artificial. Collective.”, will be held from May 10 to November 23, 2025, in the traditional venues of the Giardini and the Arsenale. Curated by architect and innovator Carlo Ratti, the exhibition explores the role of architecture in the era of distributed intelligence, fostering dialogue between natural systems, artificial intelligences, and human collectives.

With over 750 participants and more than 300 projects on display, the 2025 edition is structured around four thematic pillars: Transdisciplinarity, promoting exchange between diverse fields; Living Lab, transforming Venice into a living urban laboratory; Space for Ideas, dedicated to free design exploration; and the Circularity Protocol, focused on sustainable exhibition practices. A major innovation is “Spatial Intelligens,” an AI-based app offering personalized routes for each visitor and an interactive, dynamic experience.

The Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement was awarded to American philosopher Donna Haraway, known for her research on the relationship between humans, technology, and nature. The Special Golden Lion in Memoriam was awarded to Italian architect and designer Italo Rota (1953–2024), celebrated for his experimental and humanistic vision.

There are 66 national participations: 26 at the Giardini, 25 at the Arsenale, and 15 in the historic city center. Four countries participate for the first time: Azerbaijan, Oman, Qatar, and Togo. Among the most awarded pavilions are Bahrain with Heatwave (Golden Lion), the Holy See with Opera Aperta, and Great Britain with Geology of Britannic Repair, both receiving special mentions.

To fully enjoy the Biennale, we recommend staying at the Hotel Bel Sito, strategically located just steps from Piazza San Marco, ideally situated for visiting both the Giardini and the Arsenale.
